The city of Sylva is a small town in the Plott Balsam Mountain range of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. This community is home to just under 3,000 people and sits at an elevation of 2,036 feet.
What makes Sylva so unique and why so many people fall in love with this area is the moderate climate and the "illusion of seclusion" it provides. You can enjoy all the pleasures that small town living has to offer without being completely detached from urban life. Asheville is less than an hour drive and has is one of the fastest growing cities in America. This area is known for providing some of the best outdoor adventure opportunities available in the world and has recently been named the NC Trout Capital.
In 2016 Sylva was voted among the 10 cleanest cities in the country. The award-winning film "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri" was filmed in Sylva and Dillsboro in the spring of 2016.
Sylva also offers a wide array of restaurants, breweries, cocktail lounges and plenty of shopping opportunities in the downtown area.
