The History of Blue Ridge Premier Realty

As a new broker in real estate during a down time in market sales in 2008/2009, Carol Pearce Taylor realized few homes were selling and there was a high demand for long-term rentals.  To meet this need, Blue Ridge Premier Rentals, LLC began in August 2009 with a small desk space in an affiliated Sylva real estate company to meet both the needs of our clients who wanted quality renters in their homes until the sales market could improve and also to meet the increasing demand for quality homes for rent.

 As the rental business grew and sales increased, we moved to a larger home office and in 2015 hired Adrienne Clark Higdon, as a full-time property manager who soon became a broker.  When the opportunity came in 2016 to buy a home in Historic Dillsboro and convert into our new bigger office, we jumped on it.

 After 5 months of renovation, we moved into our new space in February 2017 and immediately doubled the numbers of brokers in our office from 2 to 4.  Tom Bommer, the original BIC of both BRPR and our affiliate real estate company came on board.  In addition, Tom served as our first office manager until 2019.

 As Angie Hambling was preparing to retire from NCCAT and completing her pre-licensing real estate course, she came by our office to begin the search process.  We all realized she was a great fit and Angie came on board in October 2017. She is very caring and takes great care of her clients. 

 Renee Corbin came to our Open House in May 2017 with a mutual long-term friend and decided to pursue a new career in real estate after retiring from WCU the previous year. She also has been a welcome addition since October 2017. Renee is organized and a planner and became our current office manager in 2019. 

In August of 2019, Samantha Teague joined our firm after she graduated from Western Carolina University with her Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design in May 2019.   Samantha adds a unique skill to our group and provides staging and renovation ideas to buyers and sellers.

Our mutual friend, Susan Fouts, joined us in January 2020 after retiring from Western as the Executive Director for Educational Outreach.  Susan has exceptional customer service skills and has provided us with new ways to conduct our business.   

Micah Carter joined our firm in March 2020 after receiving his real estate license in 2017.  His friendliness makes him very approachable and helpful. 

Tom Bommer retired at the end of May 2020 and sadly, we were shocked when he passed in July 2020.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

 Will Pearce completed his real estate license in summer 2020 and just recently joined the firm in July.  As we continue to grow, we now have 8 full-time brokers in 2020. 

 As one of the fastest growing real estate companies in our area, we are proud of our brokers and the integrity we all bring to the real estate industry.  Of highest importance is our honesty and kindness we show to others. We each have our own special talents which covers a big spectrum of the market and are increasing our expertise in new markets all the time.
